A labour of love inspires gemologists and diamond merchants Gülseren and Erkan to give an extra sparkle to the world of jewellery.

The grandson of a coppersmith, Erkan grew up in an atmosphere of creativity and developed a keen sense for materials. As an adult, he naturally progressed into the world of fashion and jewellery, where he worked with the biggest names.

After 15 years earning a reputation in the field, Erkan was keen to hone his skills. He joined diamond grader HRD, where he went on to play an active role in the diamond market, organising a number of seminars and training courses designed to further develop the industry and regulate the sector.

Even as a child, Gülseren had a fascination for all that glitters, from precious stones to jewellery. She spent her time devouring the many books and publications devoted to this brilliant universe, feeding her imagination and childhood dreams, paving the way for her future.

At the age of 22, she decided to turn the dream into reality by studying Gemology at the Royal Belgian Society of Gemology (SRBG). With this diploma firmly in her pocket, Gülseren completed her training at the HRD, a European leader in the field of diamond authentication and certification, where she went on to work as a lab-based diamond expert.
